Nestled on 33 sunny acres in beautiful Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Exotic Fruit Nursery is a small, family-run business with a passion for the extraordinary. Specializing in hardy, unusual fruit trees and perennial plants, we proudly grow varieties that not only thrive in our local climate but also bring a taste of the exotic to your backyard – including bananas!

From Pawpaws to Persimmons, Passionfruit to Mulberries, and even hardy Citrus and Figs, we offer a world of flavor. One of our favorites is the Pineapple Guava, a delightful small tree with fragrant, edible flowers and refreshing fruit that grows in our greenhouse right here in Nova Scotia.

But that’s not all! We also do tours, tastings, and workshops, where you can learn, taste, and experience these amazing fruits firsthand. Whether you're a seasoned gardener looking for something new, or simply curious about tasting persimmons grown in Nova Scotia, we invite you to visit and explore the unexpected at Exotic Fruit Nursery!

We specialize in the propagation and growing of fruiting and medicinal plants that we sell to the public at our nursery. Lots of varieties to choose from.

Find some treasures in our wee little Gift Shop! From Tiffany lamps and colorful crystal jewelry incorporating glass fruit to organic plant care products and dried fruit! We also have Gift Cards available.

CONSULTING

​With a masters degree in Geography, Biology, Soil Science and Forestry and over 35 years of hands-on experience, I am happy to offer advice and help with topics such as natural fruit tree care, edible garden design, soil enhancement, pond building, water storage/use and off-grid living.

Come for an appointment and discuss your questions in our cozy sunroom equipped with an extensive reference library and/or book a site visit.

We offer fruit trees, bushes and vines at compatible prices as well as expert advise on plant care, growing and fruit production.

We strive to:

  • Extend our growing season with uncommon fruit that grow nearly year round
  • Create a food forest and edible landscape for people to visit, enjoy and learn 
In our ever expanding Showcase Indoor Fruit Jungle and Outdoor Orchard, we grow the plants we sell and test them for hardiness, fruit production and taste. All our plants are organically grown and we also mix our own organic potting soil.
